  1. Yep They work a treat and welcome to the site.
  2. I don't know he does re polish the reflectors though.
  3. I sent my brother in law around to see the night eater man. He has some of the best lights in the world. If you ever get the chance to check him out I would he is Victoria. They specialise in search lights. He will run you through the lights has has and you can compare he has a milo tin light that has to be seen to be believed. My brother in law took the 9" standard power beam and there was no comparision to the nighteater's. Night eater man advises it's all in the reflector that's what makes the difference. The two biggest drawbacks with Night eater's are the price and the time it takes to get one.
  4. That's it in a nut shell and the old saying practice practice practice. There is no easy way other than buying one that does it and if your like me you will get a heaps bigger kick out training your own pup then buying a ute finder for 2 grand. No better feeling then watching your own dog do what you have trained it to do. Here is my bitch training her the same as pressy describes above only I use a pigs tail. The hardest thing for me is keeping my lugger away he loves it. Depending on the syle of dog you have will take longer for the softer breeds to lug the tail on the rope.
  5. Good Side of Town to Ken I'm on 5 acres in Crossmaglen.
  6. I sent you a PM mate cheers

  11. There will be other trips mate in school holidays. I can remember down on my knees pleading with the oldman tears rolling down the cheek asking to go on the trip only to have my mum say you can't take him out of school. We will do run in the school holidays keep keen and keep your dog fit remember you have to toss the first pig. cheers Brian.
  12. Good onya Adam good to see you joined up. Hope to get a heap of pigs with ya young fella.
  13. No mate, They get pretty big but 75kg is off the mark. More around the 20 to 25kg mark if they breed with domestic dogs they can get bigger but anything over 35 to 40kg would be extremely rare in my opionion. cheers
  14. Jackp I chase pigs but Rick L off this site has dog called "Willy" dane bloodhound x he is awesome on foxes and runs them down also very handy on pigs. But he is a very tall dog with a big tail. He sits on the back of foxes and runs them in to the dirt the best stamina I have seen from a big dog.
  15. My bloke is cross Bull arab American Staffy. He goes alright and can find and just started quad finding still very early days on the quad finding. Yes they are hard to get off but just need work my bloke will stay off a tied pig 80% of the time still working on that part. He didn't see a pig until he was 18months old. One thing you will have is they give there all mate they don't hold back.IMO
  16. Mate very good I have the leghole plate with air holes. Good service too you won't be dissappointed. I have just ordered a new chestplate it will be delivered for 10 dollars cheaper than FNQ plate is to buy.IMO good value for money
  17. Mate It's interesting that most blokes from the US that chase pigs are from Texas. When I was there last year in Austin I couldn't find anyone that approved or liked chasing boars with dogs. Plenty that liked to shoot but sadly none that wanted to use dogs. Had great time in Buda but didn't shoot any pigs did have a crack at some ducks down Louisiana way on the way to Nawlings ( thats how the locals say it) Cheers
  18. Mex, I don't know about not much to offer. I was in Austin last year and wife had to pull me away from the Cabela's store in Buda after 4 hours. You blokes have heaps to offer. I did get the cold sholder from a couple of the sales staff. It seems chasing hogs with dogs wasn't the done thing. I tried to turn them around but they were pretty set in their ways ( they don't know what they are missing). The other Highlight from Texas was the Rudy's BBQ that was great. Cheers
