hey guys any ideas on a good cross for hunting hilly country

not quite sure where you live. but i am looking for the same kind of dog. i was thinking about a masstiffXwolf hound. big dog with a punch and pretty large too

where abouts you boys from, terrain can play a part in the right dog, all hunting breeds will find, but you want a breed that will be suited to your hunting style

Personally i'd steer away from the heavier dogs for hunting in the hills, something with good bush sence, plenty of leg & a good bit of bull so when it stops the pig it stays stopped, plenty of blokes would say get an arab & i think if you get a good 1 it would suit the hills well. I've seen the bully/stag type work well in the hills, also stag/cattle. The best i've seen was a bully/wolfhound.

well i am from gippsland in Victoria. but will be using the dog for foxes and rabbits too. so what would you suggest. preferably short hair too
