No, there are no feral pigs or wild boars to hunt here. There are some in fenced in farms, you can chase around on a pay per visit basis but I have never been.

I'm fascinated by the whole idea of hunting pigs with dogs and knives.

I gun hunt up here, and shoot archery, both crossbow and compound. But my dream hunt is a couple of dogs, a good strong knife, and lots of open land.

Haha yeah nothing like chasing a pig with the dogs, I did a bit of work wrangling/guiding in the Yukon a couple of years ago for an outfitting mob had a great time. You've got some big/dangerous animals over there, i never realised how much money their was in paying hunters, the money these blokes spent to shoot a moose or bear was unbelievable. I heard of hunters using hounds to hunt coyotes i thought that was pretty cool.

There are a few guys around here, that run coyotes with dogs, further north, they run bears. Pretty sure, out west they run cougars, and bears. Most common thing to chase around here is rabbits, quite a few deer hunters use dogs about two hours north of here.

welcome to the site mate, do your self a favour and get hold of some aussie dogging dvds . i personaly believe we run the toughest , hardest dogs on the planet.have a look on yuo-tube and search for "bloom brothers" the footage these guys capture is typical of the aussie pig dog.any way once again welcome .good hunting
