Hi all
this is going to be a bit of a long winded intro
please hang in there with me
I'm from North Yorkshire and into hunting, fishing and a bit of shooting
I follow our local pack of foxhounds on horseback and on foot with the terrierman
I have terriers and hunt rats, rabbits and fox with them
The UK economy is real poor and hunting laws have just about knocked our sport completely so we are in the initial process of emigration - me, the wife and 3 kids
I thought it best to try and find out more about Australia than just talk to folks over here
I got an insight into pig hunting from a NZ guy I met in Ireland of all places - sent me off with some Pighunter mags
and it is something that i want to get into
Now that we have decide to upsticks i want to ensure that wherever we end up i can enjoy my free time to the full
I dont expect being able to get a job too difficult - but perhaps some of you could help steer me
i work in construction - specialising in structural timber frame - design, manufacture, site erection, project management
ive been self employed for 25years and wouldnt mind going back on the tools for the right job in the right location
If any of you have any help or advise it will be much appreciated - job wise, location wise, sport wise - we are country folk and have been used to have no near neighbours
meanwhile I will have a good read through all of these posts and topics
cheers and thanks for reading to the end
Tom
