[New From Florida]

My property is next to a large swamp that has always had hogs in it. Alot of the time, I will see hogs rooting out in my pasture. I used to have a JRT that would go in to the swamp and bay hogs but I lost him to coyotes last year. Now I use the grey to chase the hogs and slow them down till my pit gets there. The grey catches small hogs but mostly just slows down larger ones. Most of my friends give me a hard time about using her for hogs but I like to watch her chase them down. My pitbull has a little cur in her,so she will find but she is short range.

sounds like you got a good place for chasing em there, any gators???, who cares what anyone says, as long as your enjoying hunting with you dog. Thats a bloody nice pit too bud.

hey bud, great site, you should enjoy it, so do you use those two dogs to find your pigs as well, how hard's your grey, haven't heard of too many grey's used for pigging in their pure form.

Hi all,

My name is Steve and I am located in Rosevale, in South East Qld. Creek flats, thick scrub and mountain country, and I love it.

Have hunted with rifles and bows most of my life but am being introduced to the "Hound on Hog" style by some friends.

Only hound I have ever hunted with is my 4 year old Beagle "Belle", fantastic nose, but not exactly a "Hog Dog".

So I know this is going to open up many an argument, but being a new guy to the game, any suggestions on a nice breed or x breed that doesnt mind being ridden by the kids but will work in the field??
