  1. As my dog jumped on fresh scent not 2 ks from town I knew it was a good day for it .... I ran in through the scrub ...I heard the hit up ... I looked over a big pile of bush dumped rubbish an there they were

My faithful dog had found the biggest box of old picture magazines I'd ever seen

    GOOD DOG I yelled

Id truly hit the jackpot it was then that it dawned on me as sat in the maze of rubbish with my lovable 2 bit ball licking half bred mangy crunt of a dog or "bull Arab" as some call them

How lucky am I to live in western Sydney

    Lol

  2. Sorry bud I'm sorry I offended you... I have no problem "p i s s i n g of" and totally understand where you are coming from as far as ruining the red bull. I guess this is a general combat dog we are breed, not a specialist. I'm not looking to push my dog on anyone else. The dog in the picture was 6months and is about 65lbs now probably will top out around 75-80lbs. The breeder is trying to separate himself from pits because of the public's prospective. But in my mind there's nothing like a good game dog, and I've owned a few game breed dogs...

P.s. If you forget about my mutant mutt I won't bring him up either, then hopefully we can talk dogs, I'm sure I could still learn a lot from you, I'm not here to talk about my dog, I'd much rather talk about your dogs and what your doing :). I'm all about learning and listening.

    welcome to the site mate

im sure you realise this is a hunting site ,,an we dont like our dogs to eat people LOL ... some breeds are getting a lot of bad press over hear at the moment .

  4. hey bud just moved from emerald an i tell ya mate its a good town, love the place .

but as far as the pig hunting goes its a hard place to get em ... dont get me wrong they are around but youve realy got to work for them....

see we had heaps of rain at the start of the year the spill way at the fairbairn dam was a meter over the wall for 2months an trickeld for a further 3 weeks ..

the grass was SUPER high an thick all last year on the block that i had (wich now has a difrent manager)an out of the 18 months that i hunted it i cought more poachers than i did pigs....

so i cant realy help you out with a block to hunt but i can give few tips , when on the ask for a place to hunt forget about waiting to meet some one in town it will never happen , an most of em are full of shit ...

get out an door knock..... try round the back of the dam find a small town called GINDI an take a drive round there . there s afew getting round alfa an cappella all so an go a bit further up around belyando ....

emerald is no cape york but saying that your closer to alot of good spots than most people...

paitence is the best thing to have in your hunting kit .....

now there is as many hunters in town as there is water corses (thank sunwater for that)

so the local propertys get hammered by people asking to hunt so be polite an offer somthing that no one els has an you mite go allright ....

    goodluck

as for breed dont pay outrages money thats about it give ya self 50 to 250 limit .

    good luck

  6. Hi everyone, been keen on getting a roo dog for a while now and seeing we are suddenly dogless, too long a story, there's no time like the present to look into it a bit further so i can gather info, and find out if they are a dual purpose dog, as in work and family, 'cos the first hurdle is to convince my missus it won't eat our kid, uno what i mean fellas? Infact my wifes sister was bitten by a roo dog their uncle owned, well, one of a few i'm told although my wife reckons it was her sisters fault and not the dogs, she doesn't have a problem with them really but we'd both like to hear from owners who work their dogs and also have them as a family pet when at home. We live on Eyre Penninsula SA, plenty of game nearby and know plenty of farmers with huge farms. Freinds of freinds breed 'em somewhere round here so iy shouldn't be a drama to locate a pup. Any feedback much appreciated. Jimbo.

welcome mate ... got three working dogs an have 2 kids .. just gota make sure that you dont leave them together unsupervised ... my dogs are friendly an im sure that my kids are safe around them , but i can never be to carefull so its my choice to be around while the dogs are near the kids ...

saying that when there friends play over i put the dogs in another part of the yard so they cant get to each other ...

betere to be over protective then complacent ...
