Hey mate welcome
hmmm in all honesty the danes in a pure form can be a tad soft and knock up very quickly due to all the weight they have to carry around with them also they lack in some speed which can be vital at times.
Have you thought about a first cross as they make a great cross and i have alot of time for them and if you are serrious about hunting then i would definately suggest them as a cross

Hey mate i hunt both night and day mate.
Dehydration isnt a huge issue where i live and hunt as they spend a majority of the time on the ute until they smell the pig then launch off on a good scent. But its always good to give the dogs a swim and a good drink if they have been for a good run.

Harley is 45 - 48kg working condition her full brother was 55kg but basicly the same style of dog but as you know the bitches are nowhere near as heavy set as males so i was happy with the overall outcome.
