  1. Hey mate I just wanted to know a bit more about the bully max supplements, I looked it up online and couldn't find any reviews from hunters. Only show ponies who want there dogs to look like they on steroids.. I'm interested to try it in the dogs but don't want them to gain to much muscle mass and become to heavy set

  2. Hi guys,

Im 17 from south west NSW and just getting started.

I've been hunting since i was 13 with some guys and there dogs around the local area.

I currently have a 5 month wolfhound bully x wolfhound american bulldog and looking for a few more young dogs, including one that is started and can teach the young ones.

Also looking for any advice on breastplates, trackers, training methods and places/people to hunt with.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers Tom

Hey mate, sounds like a nice dog you got yourself there. He's got the breeds in it to produce the goods, just pump the work into him.

If you have a look up the thread tips for training your pup, there's some quality advice in there.

As for breastplates, speak to Charles off this site. I haven't yet bought my plate but he's been helpful so far :)

    Good luck and happy hunting!

  3. Gday everyone. I've probably introduced myself on here before, but stopped using the forum for a while and figured I'd introduce myself again anyway.

I'm 18 years old, I have only been out hunting a handful of times and been lucky enough to score myself one or two boars with the help of other hunters off this site. I am originally from gympie, then moved to cairns, and now living back down in brisbane for Uni stydying environmental management- majoring in natural systems and wildlife. I am very interested in the management of feral pigs and am looking to possibly involve this into my degree in the next 3 years.

My history with dogs hasn't been that great. I had a bull arab pup when I lived in gympie which I had to part with when I moved to cairns unfortunately, and then I got myself a new pup after living there for a year. Then when the time came for moving down to Brisbane for Uni I had to leave him back home with mum. Now that I am going to be moving into my own place where I am allowed dogs I am looking into getting another pup, which hopefully I can train up and get some time into him.

I have a property in gympie about 2 hours north of brisbane which has been known to have some pigs on and am in the process of trying to get some more properties.

I like camping, fishing and 4WDing. Always keen for a weekend away when time permits - living in the big city sucks.

    Cheers and happy hunting! B)

  5. Gday and thanks for the reply fellas. Im 28 Dion why do you ask mate.

Was just wondering, if you were only new to cairns was gonna say you can come meet up with some of my mates etc but im only a young, 17 years old, when i get my dog properly started im sure we could get out for a hunt or something

    best of luck

  6. Gday,

Ive just moved over from Perth with my family and had been hunting with my little brother a few times. Have noticed that just about every ute up here seem to have dog cages on the back! Pigging is something I have wanted to get into for a while but we where so limited in WA as most places were no go with big penalty's attached for having dogs, rifles etc...

Cant wait to get into the action up here in Cairns and learn the ropes... any help along the way would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Luke

gday luke welcome to cairns. How old are you mate?

  7. your mad mate you can do the cape any time the chance to flick all those young girls is getting smaller by the day. IMO hahahah good luck with the blocks

If i can do the cape trip anytime.. how many of you older fellas get the chance to take a 4 week holiday and just do your own thing? Schoolies is just a waste of money, spend all this money on a week you dont remember because you drink too much piss anyway.. im just looking to spend it with some good mates chasing pigs, 4wding, and having a good time, IMO it wouldnt get any better than that.

  8. Schoolies vs Cape hunt

2 legged bush pigs vs 4 legged bush pigs

Take the later Dion, so you dont have to chew your arm off in the morning :hump::wub:

Exactly what im thinkin. I reckon a cape trip would be ideal to celebrate the end of 12 hard years at school before i have to go do another 5 in uni.

  9. Hey everyone, ive been joined onto this site for a while now. but never really do a great deal of posting. Just thought id re introduce myself

My names dion, and im a 16 year old that lives in cairns.. I got a 14 month pitbull/ridgeback/american staffy/bull arab that i have taken out a few times and am starting to train up. Hes a great dog, and good temperment..

Im in year 12, and as you all know at the end of the year there is the whole 'schoolies' scene. Im not really one to see the purpose of spending thousands of dollars on a week i wouldnt remember so lately i have been think at the end of the year a pigging trip would be a good idea. Of course, the first one that pops into mind is up to the cape and im just wondering how hard it is to get properties to camp and hunt of up there, and what sort of costs it is to do this sort of a hunt.. and how other people have done theres

my best mate is pincho off this site from narrabri, so id be bringing him along with me and we'd have possibly two or three dogs and a 2 compound bows

any suggestions as to how to pull off this once in a life time hunting/camping trip to celebrate 12 years of school please let us know

cheers, dion. and i hope to meet some of you over the upcoming holiays i got
