Greetings all my Aussie compatriots. I love Great Danes and will be buying two in the spring. I've read some discouraging stuff out there concerning danes as pig dogs, but the breed fits me and I fit the breed, so I'm stuck with em. I love to hunt, and have never boar hunted before, but we've got a big feral hog problem -or blessing, as I like to think of it- in Missouri, US where I live. I'm slapping down some decent money for a pair of pups that come from parents that have been joint, heart and thyroid tested, and whose grand parents are 13 and 14 and not dead yet. I'd hate to have a couple dogs like that and never try em out on some razorbacks.
Bottom line, I'm pumped about catching some pork when my pups grow up, and I need help. I'm clueless, I haven't used dogs for catching anything but fleas thus far in my life. Look for me, USDanefan, in the other forums here in the next few days to see if you can impart some knowhow on a greenie from the States. Cheers, friends -Tim
