  1. Conor, thanks for reply. You don't know our names but we all know one another, either directly or indirectly. We all operate on the basis that whatever we say or do is likely to be known within our world. We also have our own magazines, own forums, own videographers and journos. So when someone we don't know wants our trust we ask questions. We've been lied to before and treated with disrespect, it is up to you to do the convincing as to why we would risk that again. I see you have sent me a PM. I'll look at it but fair warning and nothing personal, I don't see any reason to risk dealing with a person I don't know or who can't give me a few references.

  2. G'day Conor,

I'm interested that the article in the Green Left Weekly referred to your interest in working with pig hunters rather than looking at the damage caused by feral pigs. Were you misquoted in the story? I ask because  as a culture, hunters in general and pig hunters in particular have had a lot of grief from the politically Green. What are your links with the publication?

I'm not saying anything you've said is disingenuous but a skeptic might read it as a sales job to have us drop our guard and expose ourselves to ridicule or attack. We have seen one example of fairness from the Green media, a recent interview with Green Lifestyle Magazine. They acted professionally and reported accurately, from all sides.

However, professionalism and fairness has been in short supply in many of our past relationships with people offering us respect.

So, why should we trust you?

Where did you grow up? Every chance if you grew up rural as you say, someone on here will know your family and vouch for you.

Name a few people in the media who might recommend you. You might be surprised ho some of us grew up with or worked with. as you'd know from a rural background, personal; recommendations count for a lot.

    So, fire away...

  3. G'day Irish,

Saw you over on Australian Hunting Net. This is more the go for questions about dogs and hunting with them in Oz. If you want more action shots etc you might want to consider becoming a VIP so you have access to that section. $10Aus a year.

    Good luck with it all.

    Cheers.

  4. Mate why u keep carrying on!? How old and am and how long iv been huntin has nothing to do with it... I dnt poach... I clearly stated that I just moved here and would love somewhere to hunt... I used to hunt cane farms back where I used to live and never even considered hunting on property that I didn't have permission for... So let's drop this poaching crap... The previous comments are rattling on about places that I have no clue wat or where they are... So if u wud actually talk properly and fill me in and don't assume I'm a poacher that wud b great.. Thanks.

First time I've spoken to you mate. I have spoken properly, if you can't read, it's nothing to do with me. Tried to help you, now I'm gone.

    Cheers.

  5. Let's start agsin mate. The area you mentioned is full of poachers and the way your post reads (and the subsequent ones) you oould be seen as a bloke who sees vacant land and thinks it's OK top hunt there. Just pull your head in a bit, let blokes get to know who you are and things might go a bit better. When people talk about areas having pigs it can sound like they don't have permission...

And Ripsnorta has more than a little bit of influence on who is on the site and who is not so a little respect goes a long way.

With respect, how old are you and how long have you been hunting under your own steam?

  6. G'day Nathan,

No one is going to give up their properties to you but you might be able to get out for a run with a few blokes and learn a bit about the game. Just get active on the forum so blokes get to know what sort of person you are and you might get a few offers of hunts. Country is hard to come by and doggers tend to be protectivbe of their places, especially with new blokes. Nothing about you personally just the way it is. It takes time and you've got plenty of that...

    Cheers.

  7. G'day Jason,

Welcome to the site. I'm guessing you are new to pig catching...

One of the best ways to get onto some country is to be active on this forum so blokes in the area get to know what sort of bloke you are. If you earn a bit of trust someone might take you out for a run.

Tell us a bit about yourself to get the ball rolling.

    Cheers.

  8. G'day mate,

    Welcome to the site.

There will be plenty of dogs on offer at a range of prices but if you're new to all this I'd suggest you get out with a few blokes first to settle on what type of dog might suit you. Also do you have country to hunt? If not, work on that first because a lot of keen blokes grab a dog and then find it's bloody hard to get onto the pigs and the dog's training falls off, especially if you get a pup to start with.

Good luck with it all though.

    Cheers.
